Varsity football teams to take on round 1 of varsity football season

Kick-off to start tomorrow as eight teams go head-to-head in the first round of the Varsity Football. Starting off the football season will be the UFS verses UWC and the match will take place at Xerox Shimla park at 16:00.

The football season starts with UP-Tuks at the top in the overall University standings.

Fixtures Round 1:

The University of Free-State (UFS) to take on the University of the Western Cape (UWC) at Xerox Shimla Park at 16:00.

The reigning champions, University of Pretoria (UP-Tuks) to battle it out with Tswane University of Technology (TUT) at the Tuks stadium at 18:15.

Central University of Technology (CUT) to play it out at home with the University of Johannesburg (UJ) at the CUT stadium at 18:30.

The North-West University’s (NWU’s) will face the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) on their home ground in their first Varsity Football game at Mafikeng Stadium at 18:30.

Varsity sports football results since kick-off

4 rounds to go until, one team claims the victory. We have experienced 5 rounds of varsity diski, and top of the football log is TUT with 10 points, making a two points difference between TUT and the teams which are in second and third place on the log.

Following on the football log in second place is the NMU which sits with 8 points together with UFS.

UWC, UJ and the UP follow each other on the log, after 5 rounds of football they all sit with a score of 7, followed by CUT with the score of 6 and UKZN with just 2 points making it last on the log.

Round 6 of football is set to take place on the 29th this week.

Gearing up for varsity Netball 2019

Eight teams and nine rounds, for the netball teams to begin their quest as they take it to the court for the number one spot.

The Madibaz, Maties, Nelson Mandela University (NMU), Tswane University of Technology (TUT), Univeristy of Free-State (UFS), Univeristy of Johannesburg ( UJ), University of Pretoria TUKS (UP Tuks), University of Western Cape (UWC) will take on 9 rounds for the varisty netbal glory.

Matches are set to begin on the 26th of August.

Round 1 of Varsity Football

Varsity football started on a high with all teams looking to make a good first impression, as kickoff began on Thursday afternoon.

The University of Free-state (UFS) went against the University of the Western Cape (UWC), starting kickoff with a close call win of 3-2, against the UWC.

TUT vs UP-Tuks

The Tswane University of Technology (TUT) wouldn’t let the Univeristy of Pretoria claim victory as they managed to tackle the Univeristy of Pretoria (UP-Tuks) to a 1-0 at their home grounds.

MTN Connector: Jurgen Booysen (UP-Tuks)

UJ vs CUT

The univeristy of Johannesburg (UJ) were confident enough to take on the Central University of Technology (CUT) at the CUT Stadium. UJ ended victorious with 1-0 score against CUT.

MTN Pulse Moment of Brilliance: Mpho Molwatse (CUT)

NMU vs UKZN

The Nelson Mandela University was playing at their home ground and made their fans proud, as they made their home ground an advantage leading up to a 2-1 victory against the University of Kwa-zulu Natal (UKZN).
