The Nelson Mandela bridge, the student’s passage to Bree taxi rank. Students have expressed safety concerns as a lot of them have fallen victim to the crime that takes place at the bridge.
The City of Johannesburg has been working on a plan to clean the bride off crime and has said that they want to put a stop to the criminal activities taking place at the bridge.
Mayor Geoff Makhubo stated that to ensure that students are safe, the City of Johannesburg has deployed metro police officers on the bridge and is also working with Wits security and other security companies in Braamfontein.
