It started with a record of 48 political parties who had successfully registered to contest the 2019 general elections, leading up to the polls where we saw South Africa’s top 3 political parties battle it in numbers to see which party will win the 2019 elections.

On the 25th of May 2019, President Cyril Ramaphosa will officially be sworn in as the president of the Republic of South Africa.

The 2019 Presidential inauguration begins with changes and breaks the tradition, for the first time in South African history, the inauguration will be held at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, instead of the traditional venue – the Union Buildings.

Cyril Ramaphosa will be sworn in as the sixth democratically elected president of the democratic republic.

With events leading up to the 2019 elections, we also saw a lot of youth declining from casting their votes and most of those who qualify to register to vote did not register.

A lot of South Africans have over their years cast their votes with the hope that the leadership of this country will create better education systems, development within the education sector, employment, better living standards, access to basic necessities, and this is to name a few.

Under new leadership, we have seen that “HOPE” is no longer at the core of getting South Africans to put the X on the ballot paper and in the words of Dr. Binganidzo Muchara, South Africa needs more than just political manifestos.

As South Africans gear up to the 2019 inauguration of the president, every citizen looks for manifestos to be turned into action and the restoration of what was lost but promised.

The ceremony will coincide with Africa Day. Additionally, the inauguration also comes at a time when South Africa celebrates 25 years of Freedom.
