South Africa has been waiting for this much enticipated moment were the President Cyril Ramaphosa announces his cabinet.

We have seen changes where 50% of the cabinet is comprised of women and in a bit to fulfill it’s obligation the president has also included the youth to play a more active role in government.

Number of ministers moved down from 36 to 28 and some of the departments have been merged.

There are also some surprises there as Pretricia De Lille is appointed public works Minister and Fikile Mbalula, Thoko Didiza, Thulas Nxesi making a comeback to cabinet.

It is indeed satisfying to see that ministers were appointed on the bases of their capabilities and that performance will be monitored regularly to ensure that appointed cabinet fulfills their duties.

Ace Magashule said ,We have seen young people coming in and they will be guided by older members and this stands to provide that much needed change that South Africa needs.

The sentiments have been good ones as some are confident that the chosen cabinet will fulfill the aligned manifestos.

We have seen Ministers such as Rob Davis, Bathabile Dlamini, Jeff Radebe who didnt make the cut.

We now await for the new cabinet to be sworn in and how the currency markets digest these changes.
