Karla Pretorius named player of the year

Even though the South African women’s netball team couldn’t secure a victory at the 2019 Netball World Cup in Liverpool on Sunday, they were honored to celebrate the achievement of their wing defence Karla Pretorius who was named Player of the Tournament.

The last South African to win the same award was Erin Burger who was given player of the 2011 Netball World Cup in Singapore.

“I feel very honoured and grateful to have been named the best player. You are only as good as those you surround yourself with. So, a massive thanks to the team who did so well,” said Pretorius.
