The Gauteng government together with various exhibitors came together in a five-day expo to expose the youth to opportunities and information that encourage youth development and the development of the greater Gauteng.

Over the years the Youth Expo has taken the initiative to tackle challenges experienced by each generation, and this year to compliment the changes of this generation and the 4th Industrial Revolution the youth was exposed to the latest technologies, entrepreneurship and job opportunities.

Among those who attended the event included the premier of Gauteng, David Makhura, who took time to address attendees and shed light on the government’s decision to involve the youth more in the decision making of the country, being part of cabinet.

” At the centre of growing Gauteng together will be young people because youth are the future. We can’t do anything for the youth without their participation, that is why they are right there in cabinet making decisions and making things happen”, said Gauteng premier, David Makhura.

In closing, the youth within various fields were honoured and acknowledged for their contribution in making a difference. The ” youth service and excellence awards” were awarded in celebration of young people who play a significant role in their communities in and around Gauteng.
