The University of South Africa (UNISA) graduate school of Business Leadership was host to the Business Management Forum were the Democratic Alliance(DA), African Covenant(AC), African National Congress(ANC), and the African Transformation Movement( ATM) held a conventional event to unpack economic issues in the context of leadership.
Dr. Binganidzo Muchara also took time to shed light on dire South African issues such as unemployment, poverty, inequality and Political Parties promises, and he questioned which one of the political parties fall in the capable hands to be able to provide South African citizens solutions.
Now that the whole Country has witnessed the outcome of the 2019 elections, with the ANC still in power however this time around under new leadership, it is safe to say in the words of Dr. Binganidzo Muchara, ” We need more than political Manifestos”.
Taking a look at how economic issues have taken a tall on every system, and with increasing student protests he asked, ” Who has solutions to an education system that is skills driven, and not just a mere qualification bureau?”
” As a school of Business Leadership are we confidant about the contribution we put forward, do we do enough to contribute to South Africa’s education system training these leaders, including politicians with good standards”, Mucahra said.
He further said the challenge they face as an education system is that ” we have to design a syllabus that talks to a certain ethical partner that we believe in, people who can desert the party for sake of principles.”
“We have been doing a lot of compromising in South Africa, we have seen a lot of scandals, what South Africa needs is [leaders with vision], responsible leadership, we need accountable leaders, we need ethical leaders, fearless leaders who can make decisions.”
