With gender inequality still an ongoing issue within universities. On Tuesday her Royal Highness, met with students and academics to discuss the challenges female students are still facing today in terms of access to higher education. Emphasising the importance of gender equality in education.
The duchess took part in a round-table discussion with the Association of Commonwealth (ACU).
As a patron of the ACU, during her engagement with academics and students, Meghan explained how ensuring women receive equal education can benefit society.
The duchess also took time to announce three new Gender Grants, with the recipients being the University of Johannesburg, Stellenbosch and the Western Cape.
The grants aim to help with funding initiatives at the universities which promote gender equality in education and support female members of staff.
