On this day the president of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa was sworn in at Loftus Stadium, where he made his way to the stage at 11:05 am.
The President-elect cannot assume the office of the President without taking the oath or affirmation before the Chief Justice. #SouthAfrican President-elect, Cyril Ramaphosa, was just sworn in by Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng.
The president also acknowledged 21-Gun Salute.
In his address he said,” I’m humbled by the trust bestowed on me”
“We are honoured by the presence of African heads of state”
” let us declare that when we gather to celebrate the 50th year of freedom let there be no one without basic necessities”
” let us aspire to a vision more probable”
” We are bound by our determination to succeed”
” we must be a society that values excellence,that values hard work “
“Let us build a society that protects those who are vulnerable”
” All south Africans want actions, not words”
” South Africans have chosen hope over hopelessness”
“The constitution will continue to guide us”
“You the people of south Africa have chosen me and now that I have taken oath I say Yes South Africa THUMA MINA”
”And I pledge here today that I will serve you, I will work with you, side by side, to build the South Africa that we all want and deserve”
