Published

This week we celebrate the legacy of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, and with that we also recognise the contributions made by citizens in a bid to bring about change.

The Rhodes University Community Engagement Division (RUCE) together with the community of Makana, have taken the initiative to bring change within the community of Manaka through, Vuka! Makana initiative in honour of Nelson Mandela’s birthday this week.

This initiative was set to partner with communities, encouraging citizens to assist with creating better living standards within their communities.

It seeks to tackle prolonging issues which have been affecting both the standards and means of living. These issues are commonly related to,”littering streets, day zero looming, pothole, or dilapidated buildings”.
