Open Access week 2020 kick-started on Monday. This is a competition which opens up the platform for researchers all around the world to upload their research for a chance not only to share innovations but win prizes.
This years theme, “Open with Purpose: Taking Action to Build Structural Equity and Inclusion.”
“For Open Access Week (October 19-25), Figshare is running a research data upload competition, offering prizes for participating institutions who upload the most items and researchers who upload during that week.”
This is aimed at making information more accessible and beneficial to several groups of people. Students, Researchers, Medical professionals, Developing countries, Entrepreneurs and Small Businesses, The Public and Publishers, get to have access to information beneficial to their field.
Ways in which this information is accessed depends on the discussions of publishers, authors, researchers, funders and other communities and institutions.
