79-year-old man registered to study at North West University

Nearly 80, but North West man proves you’re never too old to study

A man by the name Jacob Seboko matriculated in 1966, has registered with the University of North West in Vanderbjil Park Campus to pursue his dream of becoming an Educator.

In a statement published by the university, Jacob Seboko said he felt he “had too much time” on his hands following the passing of his wife 10 years ago and decided to put his time to good use while ensuring that he keeps mentally fit.

“I have so much time on my hands and by the grace of God, I am still blessed with good health,” said Seboko.

“I have always had the desire to teach and if I am still able, I would love to be a teacher. I have a head for figures and have a knack for accounting and economics, both subjects that are in great need of qualified teachers,” he added.

Jacob Seboko is already rich in knowledge and Education. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration which he obtained in 1996, and A Diploma in Adult Basic and Training, and has also practiced as a teacher for adults. Mr. Seboko hopes to be an inspiration to his classmates.
