Feenix, a crowd funding initiative sponsored by standard bank which supports students by helping them access financial assistance to further their studies.
Feenix is recognised as the only non-profit initiative in South Africa that pays off student debts.
Due to the financial obstacles students have been faced with, this initiative steps in to help students in need.
For Students to be able to receive funding they can start with creating a profile on the Feenix website which includes details on their financial status.
For students who are looking to be funded
Are you an SA citizen/permanent resident/refugee or asylum seeker?
Are you registered at a public South African university?
Do you have current or historical debt owing to your university?
Is your combined household income under R600k per year?
Do you have a certified copy of your identity document?
Do you have an official* fee statement?
*(not older than 30 days and on the university’s letterhead)
All the above serves as eligibility requirements for all students seeking funding.
Over the years the online fundraising platform has contributed towards changing 860 lives, raising a total of 26 million to date.
